Nipika Toby Creek Nordic Loppet Weekend/ Teck Kootenay Cup 3&4 – CANCELLED for 2021

An amazing weekend of cross-country ski racing

The 2021 Loppet has been CANCELLED due to Covid-19.

It was a tough decision to make but the best one to keep potential races, participants, families, volunteers, and staff safe.

Trails will still be open so come out and ski this winter!

Loppet Dates & Times

Saturday,  January 30  &  Sunday, January 31

Bib pick up and information booth at the Nipika Barn between 8:00 and 10:30 a.m.

Races start at 11:00 a.m. It will be a wave start by category.

Start times will be posted at bib pick up.

 

Loppet Distances

Classic Distances: 1.5, 3, 7.5, 15 and 30km

Skate Ski Distances: 1.5, 3, 7.5, 10 and 20km

Absolutely no registration on the day of the event.

Loppet Fun

Join us for a barbeque and awards ceremony after the race at the Nipika Day Lodge. BBQ is included with race registration, and additional tickets can be purchased on site.

Bring your family out for the day or weekend and spend time tobogganing, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and fat biking together.

Course

Saturday’s classic ski course is 15km double-tracked, groomed course. Racers in the 30km category complete two loops.

Sunday’s skate ski race is on a 10km skate-only, groomed track. The 20km racers complete two loops.

Accommodations

Luxury cabin accommodations are available at Nipika.

The closest town is Radium Hot Springs, which is a 30 minute drive. There are a number of beautiful motels and hotels.
