25 May Canoe the Kootenay River
Available daily upon request
Spend a day on the Kootenay River, paddling through aquamarine water sighting birds and wildlife in the air and along the shorelines.
Our team of experienced guides will coach you along the way to develop and improve your skills on moving water, around winding bends, and over stretches of rapids.
The guides can share stories about the river and mountain area as we paddle surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Tours will stop for a rest at one of the countless remote beaches where you can explore the shoreline for animal prints and even take a swim in the glacier-fed water.
Adult $100.00 / Youth (under 12) $75.00
Canoeing is finished for the season. Book now for 2021!
The day begins at 9:30 am when you meet your guides at Nipika to sign waivers. We will hop in the van around 10:00 am to shuttle to the river. You will meet your guides in the upper parking lot at Nipika. The length of time for the trip depends on time of year, as well as water levels of the river. Expect anywhere from 3-4 hours.
Don’t forget a camera, sunhat, sunscreen, water bottle, watershoes, snacks or lunch, rainjacket, and an extra layer of warm clothes. Nipika will provide the canoe, paddle, lifejacket, helmet, dry barrels, and dry bags.
Due to social distancing practices in effect, we will only be taking trips with a maximum of 8 people.
We are also asking that if you have your own mask that you bring it for the shuttle. If you don’t have one, one will be provided to you.
